The Unmuted Dispatch
November Edition
The hush of November
After the firework fizz of October — guest events, conversations, replays galore — November came in like a hush.
No podcast episodes.
No salons in the Lounge (except for one unforgettable funeral).
Just silence, rituals, and room.
What did happen then?
I hosted Gigi’s Funeral — a psycho-spiritual goodbye to the Good Girl archetype. We wore veils, wrote letters, crossed thresholds. I introduced my new membership tier The SpeakEasy: Where Good Girls Go to Get Loud. In this Tier of the Unmuted Lounge we will be doing two creative journaling salons every month where we look at an archetype and how she shows up in our lives. all in my usual slightly irreverent way. So if you like your shadow work with a serving of dress up and a side of dark humour then you will love the SpeakEasy. It officially opens in January but the waitlist is open now and there is a fantastic founder’s discount.
I am back at Poetry in Depth again with SoW CIC, diving back into all types of poetry. Tom has found some of the weirdest poetic forms known to man and I am now attempting Centos and golden shovels. We may invent our own form. It may involve and Excel Spreadsheet.
I celebrated Dianne of Pen and Ponder’s poetry pamphlet launch — a pleasure to hear her read a really personal and heartfelt collection.
I began recording new podcast episodes — they’ll return soon, with more poets, artists, and guests who have something worth shouting about.
I’ve been out walking in the orchard. Trying to finish my poem I started writing there two months ago. It’s not quite there yet. Maybe it won’t be ready till spring. Sometimes poems are like that.
This month I’ve been listening to
🎧 Lily Allen’s “West End Girl” — incredible storytelling. I never imagined myself humming along to the story of a celebrity relationship gone wrong. But there you go.
📚 Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez — through the revealing lens of data, we see how deep inequality goes. A reminder of why we speak, why we make room, why voice work matters.
PS — I opened an Etsy shop!
It’s small, soft-launched, and fiercely intentional.
Each one started as a live creative salon inside my membership — now they’re ritual-infused, bite-sized portals you can enter on your own time.
Prices start at £3.99.
🎭 Coming Up: Gigi’s Funeral — Live Again
If you missed the first one (or want to go deeper), we’re doing it again. Live. FREE
📅 December 12th at 12:30 PM UK time
💀 A new festive edition, complete with fresh words from Gigi’s Christmas Diary.
It’s not just a workshop. It’s not quite a performance either. It’s a portal.
Come say goodbye to the Good Girl — again, or for the first time.
Can’t make it live? You’ll get the replay.
🎄Also Coming Up: The Unmuted Lounge Christmas Party
📅 December 16th at 7:30 PM UK time
✨ Come as you are. Bring a drink (or a blanket). No forced fun, just a low-key gathering of loud women, quiet women, becoming-unmuted women.
If you’ve been hovering at the edge of the Lounge, wondering if it’s for you — this is the perfect time to step inside.
There will be laughter, reflection, probably swearing, and definitely a poem or two.
You don’t have to be anyone but yourself. Promise.
